You should also know in the book &quot;Travels in American Iraq&quot; the author, an Australian journalist, documents his trip on the &quot;Orient Express&quot; as he calls it, from Baghdad to Basra, this would have been in 2003 or 2004 I believe. Its definitely an interesting read.
